Founded by Itala Yépez in 2022, Kapok Consultores has established itself as an innovative consultancy in the field of non-governmental organizations, with a special focus on conservation. Our mission is to co-create efficient work strategies, integrating successful practices from the private sector to enhance the management and efficiency of NGOs in Ecuador and internationally.

We specialize in effective administration, strategic planning, designing and facilitating diverse workshops, and support in the preparation of project proposals and leadership for conservation, conflict resolution, mentoring, among others. With a personalized approach, we tailor our solutions to the specific needs of each organization, ensuring that each strategy is not only ambitious but also feasible and effective.

Associated Consultants

Dulce Espelosin is a distinguished professional in Communication Sciences and Media, and a Certified Professional Facilitator, whose passion for conservation earned her the "Distinguished Service Award for Latin America and the Caribbean" from the Society for Conservation Biology in 2020. With over a decade of experience, she has worked in more than 15 countries, promoting communication and behavioral change at a global level. Her career began in 2003 in La Primavera Protected Area in Mexico and extended to her work at Rare, as well as founding "Enjoy the Session", a training and consulting firm, collaborating with organizations such as USAID - Chemonics and the Social Marketing Association for North America.

Luis Arroyo is an expert in the design, planning, and execution of conservation projects and programs, climate change initiatives, and sustainable local development, boasting over 15 years of experience in the field. His extensive career includes collaborations with various international cooperation and conservation agencies. He has led and advised projects and consultancies in countries such as Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Norway, the Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, and Uganda, demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainable development and global environmental management

Mar Espinosa, with a solid background in conservation and biology, stands out as a leader in promoting sustainability, biodiversity conservation, and social inclusion. Trained at the University of Cambridge as a Conservation Leader, Mar possesses skills in facilitation, strategy, and communication focused on conservation, and is a member of an international network of professionals in the field. She has played key roles in program management, environmental education, and gender equality promotion in various organizations worldwide. Her innovative approach to interdisciplinary projects and sustainable conservation strategies has been crucial in developing inclusive communities and promoting a sustainable future

Maria Mosquera is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in formulating social projects, focusing on human rights and gender, primarily with non-governmental organizations. She also has years of experience in managing cultural projects and developing educational programs for tertiary level courses. Parallel to her professional career, Maria manages an online store of handmade products, showcasing her ability to form work teams and her creativity. She stands out for her problem-solving skills and passion for work, traits that define her as a versatile and committed professional.

Patricio Cabrera, currently the CEO of ConsensusLab Consultores and a Senior Consultant for the Earthworm Foundation in Latin America, is an expert in Ecology and Tourism, a graduate of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador. With a Master's in Eco-efficiency and Environmental Business Management and a specialization in Conflict Management, Patricio has skills in project planning and management, as well as in transforming socio-environmental conflicts. Since 2001, he has focused on the development of sustainable environmental projects and facilitating multisectoral dialogues on governance and conservation. With experience in various countries in Latin America, Europe, Asia, and Africa, he has collaborated with multilateral agencies and NGOs, specializing in dialogue, collaborative negotiation, and governance.

Lucía Vales Rojas, Conservation Officer at BirdLife International and technical consultant at CIVE Consultores, is an expert in Applied Ecology and Ecosystem Management, educated at Universidad San Francisco de Quito and holding dual master's degrees from Christian-Albrechts University of Kiel and the University of Poitiers. With experience in socio-ecological research in Mozambique and the development of circular economy projects in Latin America, Lucía has led conservation and sustainability initiatives, excelling in the implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems, and in adapting educational programs for global environmental leadership.
