Contribution: Support in the construction of a practical Strategic Plan for the next 5 years of execution of activities of the Academy of Sciences of Ecuador.
National Audubon - USA
Year: 2026
Description:
Design of the Community Engagement Leader Program Framework to strengthen the role of those responsible for mobilizing and supporting communities participating in the Christmas Bird Count.
Development of a practical toolkit with over 40 resources, designed to guide those assuming this role in areas such as outreach, participation, communication, inclusion, and community experience management.
Structure of a replicable and easy-to-implement proposal that allows National Audubon to standardize support for these leaders and strengthen community participation in the program.
Contribution: Kapok led the design and structuring of the program, translating the needs of the National Audubon Society and the Christmas Bird Count into a clear and actionable framework. The contribution included conceptualizing the Community Engagement Leader role, organizing their expertise and responsibilities, and creating and curating a resource toolkit to facilitate its implementation in various contexts.
Conserva Aves - Latin America
Year: 2026
Descripction:
Design and facilitation of a participatory strategic learning process for Conserva Aves, aimed at enabling national partners to share experiences, analyze progress and challenges, and identify lessons learned and priorities for the program's evolution.
Preparation and facilitation of the National Partners Meeting, including preliminary virtual sessions, interviews, plenary sessions, working groups, peer learning opportunities, and a field visit, integrating cross-cutting themes such as GESI (Environmental and Social Management System), monitoring and evaluation, communication, regional coordination, and capacity building.
Systematization of the lessons learned and recommendations that emerged throughout the process, identifying elements to maintain, strengthen, reduce, discontinue, or scale up, and generating practical guidelines to inform the next phase of Conserva Aves.
Contribution: Kapok designed and led the learning process from start to finish: developing the methodology and agenda, facilitating preparatory sessions and the in-person meeting, and transforming the partners' experiences and discussions into actionable findings and recommendations. The consultancy combined strategic process design, participatory facilitation, and systematization, aiming to ensure that the meeting was not an isolated event, but rather a concrete input for decision-making and the next stage of Conserva Aves.
